What a great way to start 2015! A hike up a hidden canyon, a flirty red dress, and time with our amazing Baja friends, architect Mariano & his Slovenian bride-to-be PR media girl Romana of LA76. This couple do things their own way & have their own personal style, and we’re so glad a random twitter conversation five years ago led us to a friendship with them!
Along with paper origami, vintage bicycles, old-school barbershops, cava, and travel, R+M love photography! They wanted to do something different for their engagement session and were willing to go the distance – literally! A 5-hour road trip and few more hours of rock-scrambling allowed us to discover the landscape of Baja and create some unique images. There’s something special about truly getting away from it all in nature that allows us to let down our guards, and I love the emotion and fun shared by R&M in their photos.
This shoot took us back to our days at British Columbia Magazine when exploration was part of every shoot – we love looking for new locations and discovering something special – like an abandoned crumbling red house or a secret mountain trail – when least expected! And what better metaphor for love and photography: an amazing adventure!
